Joe Frazier, the former world heavyweight boxing champion dies of cancer. He was 67. Frazier was diagnosed of liver cancer in September.
"Smokin' Joe" as he was generally known rose to the boxing headlines the world over when he beat the then famous unbeaten world heavy weight champion Muhammad Ali in Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1971 (highlights of fight video below).
Over their prime time, Muhammad Ali and Frazier had almost become synonymous to each other and their bouts were treat to watch. Muhammad Ali on his death said:
"The world has lost a great champion. I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration. My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones."
