Mario Monti PM-designate |
As earlier speculated in my post, The Italian President has asked Mario Monti to form the new government. Mr Monti, an economist and ex-EU commissioner has straightaway gone into urgent talks on his cabinet, aiming to restore finances.
Soon after asked to form the government, Mario Monti told the press:
"Italy should be an "element of strength and not weakness" within the EU. We will aim at solving the financial situation, resume the path of growth. [We want to build] a future of dignity and hope for our children."
