While everyone speculated and predicted a repeat performance by Pakistan cricket team, after a 3-0 win the test matches, England bounced back and scrapped Pakistan top order batsmen in the first few overs of the first ODI between the two teams played at Abu Dhabi today, Monday.
While Pakistani spinner still did a good job for dismissing seven Englishmen (Saedd Ajmal 5, Afridi 2), it was Steve Finn of England who dismissed four Pakistani top order batsmen in his first five overs. None of the batsmen from Pakistan could go beyond 30. It was only Aridi who managed 28.
England's Cook (137) and Bopara (50) who added 187 in England's totoal of 260 were the most successful batsmen. Other than them, no English batsman could however add meaningful score to England overall score.
So Congratulations Englnad for the first victory - let us focus now on the second ODI that starts on Wednesday.
